System Pro is an AI-powered search engine designed not only to find peer-reviewed literature, but also to surface key relationships we've extracted from those studies, connecting the findings to the broader system of research.
While the search is open-ended, the best results are generated when searching the way you would search on databases like PubMed. This includes searching for research on single topic of interest (i.e. IgA Nephropathy
) or relationship between topics (i.e. SLE and b-cell depletion
). You can also include all of the same Boolean operators (e.g., AND, OR) and extra search fields (e.g., MeSH terms) that you would use on PubMed as well.
Additionally, you can layer in keywords for a specific study population to further refine your search. To ensure the best results, use the word “among” after your keywords to indicate your desired population (i.e. Type 2 Diabetes among adolescents
). This will trigger a search event to further filter results based on semantic relevance to the study population metadata we’ve extracted.
If you are looking for the works of an individual author, you can either add the author name as an additional field in your search, or toggle to the “Author” tab in the search box before entering their name. You can use the institutional metadata to help make your selection.
In this view, you can filter by Journal, Publish Date and Study Type. Additionally, this table can be sorted by Publish Date so you can quickly navigate to the most recent research. If you’re looking for a particular study or studies with a specific keyword(s) in their title, the Study Title search can be used to refine your search.
For most studies, Pro shows an AI-generated abstract summary so you quickly scan highlights on study design, study population and findings to help you determine which studies to investigate further. These summaries are not intended to be comprehensively representative of the study contents.
To investigate a study further, click directly on the study title to open the article link.
To export the results of your search, you can select the rows that you want to download and click the export button in the top right of the page.
You have the option to export studies as a csv file, which maintains the format of the Studies table, including study metadata and abstract summaries.
Or you can select and export studies in RIS format, which you can then upload into any reference manager like Zotero or EndNote.
When you come back to System Pro, you can revisit your past searches to see the latest studies and data. By clicking on the search bar, you can access and manage your search history.
If you click on one of your past searches, System Pro will list the newest added studies at the top of the list with an icon indicating that you haven't seen these studies yet.
Lastly, when a search results in relatively few number of studies, System Pro uses AI to suggest relevant searches that will deliver more studies. Clicking on a suggested search will expand the number of studies to the number indicated in the search box.
Based on your search, System Pro retrieves all relevant studies indexed on PubMed and sorts those studies using .
Additionally, when a study is retracted, it will be labeled so you can quickly see when scanning the list. Read more about retractions .
